• September Athlete of the Month- September's AOM is sophomore Riley Wisheart.  This season Riley led the team in scoring with 33 goals.  Also able to add 10 assists-Riley was able to surpass 100 goals for her career.  A four year veteran of the team, Riley has made great strides as a source of positive support on the game and practice fields.  Congratulations Riley.

     

    September Athlete of the Month- September's AOM is sophomore Dale Lepper.  Dale is the son of Dave and Beth Lepper.  Dale has worked extremely hard on his game in the off-season both with his club team and Poland team.  His ability to control the midfield throughout the season has been instrumental to the team's success.  Dale has also shown much needed leadership this season.  Congratulations Dale!!!

     

    October's Athlete of the Month- October's AOM is junior Leah Basel.  Leah is the daughter of Tom and Julie Basel.  In Leah's fifth year on the team, she continues to set the bar for her teammates.  Leah received a CSC League All-Star Patch.  She is a dual sport athlete in the fall yet maintains her #1 spot on the team.  She leads by example, she is proof that hard work and determination will pay off.  Congratulations Leah!!!

     

    October's Athlete of the Month- October's AOM is senior Joe Grimaldi.  Joe is the son of Joe and Kristine Grimaldi.  As a first year member of the team, Joe continued to improve his results throughout the season.  Joe was the team captain, he supported and encouraged his teammates all season.  We will miss Joe's sense of humor and wish him well in his future endeavors.  Congratulations Joe!!!

     

    November's Athlete of the Month- November's Athlete of the Month is junior Carliza Roark.  Carliza is a second year starter for the Tornadoes bringing a high intensity energy to every practice and game.  She is an excellent defender often causing havoc for opposing teams.  She has been developing her shot and is quickly becoming a scoring threat on offense.  Her willingness to listen and learn about the game helps her improve daily at practice.  Carliza plays an essential role for this team and will be a key factor in the team's success this season.  Congratulations Carliza!!!

     

    November's Athlete of the Month- November's AOM is Dylan Miller.  Dylan is a starter and captain this year.  Dylan leads by example and is consistently one of the hardest workers in the gym.  He dedicates himself to being good at the little things and influences others to match his level of dedication and determination to becoming excellent.  Dylan is relentless in his pursuit to become a better basketball player by constantly paying attention to detail.  He is often one of the first to volunteer to help with our young team.  Dylan is extremely coachable and has taken his leadership skills to a new level.  It is truly like having an assistant coach on the court.  Dylan displays the utmost respect and sportsmanship to his coaches, teammates, opponents, referees and fans alike.

     

    December's Athlete of the Month- December's Athlete of the Month is junior wrestler Tanner Allen.  This is Tanner's first year wrestling for Poland and is quickly off to a 6-1 start wrestling at 113 and 120.  He has been a great addition to the team always working hard and looking for ways to improve on a daily basis.  Tanner is the son of David Allen and Stephanie Lawson.  

     

    December's Athlete of the Month is Sarah DeVuyst.  Sarah has shown dedication to her team.  She continues to grow as a person and cheerleader.  She is willing to learn new things and always willing to fix her mistakes to become better for her squad.  She has never missed a practice or game.  Sarah has shown her coaches huge improvement since the beginning of the year.

     

    January's Athlete of the Month-  Senior Joe Grimaldi is January's Athlete of the Month in Indoor track.  Though a first time participant in indoor, Joe has been one of the leaders on the team this season.  His individual performances have remained at a high level and he has shown a willingness to branch out and compete in new and different events.  Joe has shown toughness throughout league competition, fighting through injuries as he prepares for the league and sectional championships.  He has found success on the track as well as in the field and Joe currently holds school records in the high jump, long jump and 1600 meter run.  He has qualified for sectionals in two different individual events and is hoping to contend for league and sectional titles in the coming weeks.  Congratulations Joe!!!

     

    January's Athlete of the Month- Junior Leah Basel is January's female athlete of the month in Indoor track.  Leah has been one of the team's most versatile athletes this season, qualifying for sectionals in 6 different individual events.  She was voted team captain by her teammates and has proven that she is up for any challenge.  Leah has led her team on the track as well as in the field and has scored regularly in difficult league competition in the Center State Conference.  She has broken 2 individual school records this season and another as part of a relay team.  Leah also met the standard to advance to the State Open qualifier meet in triple jump.  Congratulations Leah!!!

     

    February's Athlete of the Month is sophomore Amanda Sweet.  She has been one of the main contributing factors in the team's success this season.  She scored 21 and 22 pts. in back to back league games to help secure the league championship this season.  She is averaging 16.4 ppg over the past 5 games and has had 3 double-doubles.  Her effort and ability to make plays on the court has been impressive all season.  Amanda has the ability to "take over" a game at any time with her athleticism and determination to win.  Congratulations Amanda!!!

     

    February's Athlete of the Month is sophomore co-captain Isaiah Zuchowski.  Isaiah has been a standout for our boy's basketball program this year.  With a very young team he has stepped into a leadership role this season both on and off the court.  He is learning to be more vocal and always sets a positive example for his teammates.  Isaiah is naturally very gifted but his work ethic has helped him take it to the next level.  He worked extremely hard in the off-season and that has transferred over to our season.  Congratulations Isaiah!!!
