The upcoming school year will provide us with some challenges that we have not faced in the past. The building of a new gym, track, and tennis courts could not have come at a better time! These new spaces have allowed the Physical Education Department to provide more than enough space for our students to safely move around amongst one another within the recommended guidelines to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. In P.E., the students must wear masks when they are in the building. When we are outside, they are allowed to remove their masks, if they can be safely distanced, to participate in daily activities. If a student is doing a low level of exercise, they must have at least six feet between themselves and their neighbors. If they are performing a more vigorous exercise, then they must allow at least twelve feet. Our goal in Physical Education is to get students moving safely among each other, while still learning about the importance of sport, exercise, mental health, physical health, and emotional health. We hope that when our students graduate they can continue with sport or exercise to help maintain a healthy lifestyle!!
