Booster Groups
ParentSquare for Community Members
The Poland Central School District is making it easier for community members to stay informed about district-level happenings. Members of the community are invited to join ParentSquare - the district’s primary school-to-home communication tool.
The new Poland CSD Community Group on ParentSquare allows community members who don’t have students active in the district, such as childcare providers and substitutes, to receive district-level messages including emergency closures and delays. Current staff and parents/guardians do not need to register for the ParentSquare community group.

Once registration is complete, ParentSquare can be accessed via www.parentsquare.com or the ParentSquare app, which is a free download for iOS and Android users.
How to manage notifications
Those who register will be able to receive district communication via email, text or app notification. One of the many benefits of ParentSquare is the ability to manage notification settings. Users can set their preferences to either Instant or Digest for email, text messages and the app. Instant users will receive a notification as soon as a message is posted. Digest users will receive one daily notification at 6 p.m. containing all messages posted that day.
To update notification settings in the ParentSquare app:
- Sign in to ParentSquare.
- Click the triple bar in the top left corner.
- Select “Account” on the menu on the left hand side.
- Click on “Notifications” on the menu in the middle.
- Choose how and when you want to be notified.
To update notification settings on the ParentSquare website:
- Sign in to ParentSquare.
- Click the drop down arrow next to the username in the upper right-hand corner.
- Select “Manage Account.”
- Click “Notification Setting” on the menu on the left hand side.
- Choose how and when you want to be notified.
Instant and Digest notifications apply to posts, direct messages and reminders. In instances when the district needs to communicate an urgent message, such as a closing or delay, a notification will be sent immediately, regardless of the user's preferences.

There are two resources community members may use to search the Sex Offender Registry.
One of these is a national database: Family Watchdog
The second of these is a state database: NYS Sex Offender Registry
Wellness and Safety Resources
Resources currently displayed include publications from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the National Association for School Psychologists and Parent Today.
