• Below are Procedures for Nominating Petitions:

    I.      In central school districts, candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education shall be nominated by petition.  Such petition shall be directed to the Clerk of the school district, shall be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the district, shall state the residence of each signer, shall state the name and residence of the candidate.  Each petition shall be filed with the Clerk of the district not later than 30 days prior to the school meeting or election set for May 19, 2020, at which the candidates nominated are to be elected.

    II.     Completed nominating petitions must be filed with the District Clerk no later than at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2020.


    III.   The drawing for the order in which the names will appear on the ballot will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in the District Office. Board Candidates are not required to attend the drawing, but may be present as observer.


    IV.   The following vacancies are to be filled on the Board of Education:

    • One (1) five (5) year term, commencing on July 1, 2020 and ending on June 30, 2025, to fill the seat currently held by Robert Batson.

    Where more than one office is to be filled, and there is a variance in the length of terms involved, the largest number of votes is to elect for the longest term. 


     V.    Board member qualifications:  

           1.  Citizen of the United States

           2.  18 years of age or older

           3.  District resident for 30 days or more preceding the budget vote.
