• About Me

Hello, my name is Christopher Weeden, this is my first year teaching at Poland Central School, and I will be teaching 7th and 8th grade science here. I am a Mohawk Valley native, and a graduate of Ilion High School and Hamilton College. Currently, I am also finishing up a master's degree in Education at Utica College. In addition to being certified in Chemistry, I am also a certified coach and I hope to make a contribution out on the fields in the near future here with the Tornados.

Academically, my goal is to prepare the 7th and 8th graders with the skills to be successful in their high school science courses, and beyond. I encourage the development of critical thinking skills in my students so that they are armed with the tools neccessary to distinguish truth from fiction in the world around them, and to be able to discern the nature of reality. As I tell my students, the best thing they can learn, is how to learn, as they can then take that ability with them through life to educate themselves on the topics that they find of interest, to live the best lives that they choose for themselves.
