Poland Central School introduced a revised, standards-based report card for grades PK-4 for the 2016-2017 school year to more accurately comnicate with parents and guardians what the learning standards are and how the student is making progress to meet these standards. In the following school year, our district’s elementary report card committee, consisting of teachers representing all grade levels and Poland administrators migrated the K-4 report cards to an electronic report card. What are standards?
Standards are statements of what children should know and be able to do. Standards are written for each grade level and are developed in such a way that they build upon each other from grade to grade.
Why did Poland implement a report card with standards language and descriptors?
Students in the primary years begin school with various background experiences and knowledge. Utilizing a standards-based report card gives students, parents, and teachers information about individual strengths and weaknesses as the students work to meet and exceed the standards each year.
How do I access the parent portal to see my child's electronic report card?
You may access the parent portal through the district website or by clicking here. Use the globe icon at the top of our website and enter log-in information. Questions about your portal account may be addressed to Mrs. Miller, Poland CSD Guidance Secretary and SchoolTool account manager.
Can I print my child’s report card?
Yes, you can print your child’s report card from home and parents are encouraged to bring a copy to your child's Parent Teacher Conference to ask specific questions.
What if I have a question about the report card?
Questions regarding individual grades should be discussed at each student's conference. General questions about the report card can be directed to building and district level administrators.
