Poland voters approve 2025-26 budget; elect one board of education member

  • district news

Poland Central School District voters approved the district’s $18,294,097 budget for the 2025-26 school year on May 20. Residents also elected one board of education member and approved the proposed $8.6 million capital project.

Compared to the 2024-25 school year, the proposal carried a 2.00% tax levy increase, which is below the district’s calculated 2.44% tax levy limit. The overall plan calls for a spending increase of 1.77%, which is primarily due to debt service obligations, legal proceedings involving Erie Boulevard Hydropower and the replacement of an old truck with a new truck and plow.

The budget proposition passed with 83% voter approval; 139 yes votes and 28 no votes.

More information about the budget is available on the school budget section of the district website.
