Physical activities, presentations highlight Poland 2019 Health and Wellness Day

Poland Central School District students participate in a POUND fitness activity during Health and Wellness Day on Friday, Feb. 1.





POLAND – The sounds of music, sticks hitting together, jump-roping and more spilled into the hallways at Poland Central School District on Friday, Feb. 2, for the school’s annual Health and Wellness Day.

Dancing, jump-roping, a presentation about healthy eating and a mindfulness activity were the various activities that various elementary grade levels participated in.

A Cross-Fit workout, POUND fitness, PiYo, art therapy and driving a roadster around cones in the hallway while wearing goggles to simulate drunk driving were activities for grades 6-10. Fifth-graders also participated in Cross-Fit and POUND.

There also was were mindfulness presentations throughout the day for students in kindergarten through 10th grade. Grades 7-12 attended a presentation educating about the dangers of vaping.

Juniors and seniors took a field trip to Rome to go ice skating.
