Poland 2nd-graders forego holiday gifts in favor of donating to comfort chemotherapy patients

Instead of exchanging holiday gifts, Poland Central School District second-graders decided to donate items for “chemo comfort bags” to provide support to local cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.


This is the sixth year that second-graders have participated in this effort.


Second-grade teachers Heather Judd, Rachel Hitt and Michelle Garrett gave their students a list of recommended items, and students brought in the donations.
