POLAND – Poland Central School District second-graders recently connected Thanksgiving and turkeys to everything from cookies to oral book reports.

Second-grade teachers Heather Judd, Michelle Garrett and Rachel Hitt and their students prepared cookies that they wrapped up and decorated to look like turkeys and then each student delivered at least one cookie to school staff members to thank them for all they do.

Additionally, second-graders did turkey-themed oral reports about a book they read and decorated turkey illustrations to look like characters from the book.

Second-graders also enjoyed a “Mayflower Munchie” feast with food items that represented the first Thanksgiving.
