More than 175 warm winter clothing items were donated this year as part of Poland Central School District’s elementary school “mitten tree” drive under the guidance of teaching assistant Tracy Irwin.

The drive accepts donations of mittens, gloves, hats and scarves for children and adults.

Organizers first check with Poland teachers about any Poland students who could use the items, and then the rest are donated to local charities.
