Elementary students recognized at second marking period PPP assembly
Elementary students in Poland were recognized Feb. 3 at the second marking period’s Prepared, Productive and Proud assembly.
Students received certificates for perfect attendance, being kind to others, being a safe walker and being a safe bus rider.
Elizabeth Lepper’s fourth grade class was honored with the coveted Golden Spatula Award for the second marking period. This award is given to the class that has the best cafeteria behavior.
PK-12 Principal Greg Cuthbertson led an activity to teach students to think before they act or say something, because once something happens it can’t be taken back.
Several pairs of students were provided with toothpaste and a plate. Cuthertson told the students to work together to get all the toothpaste out of the tube onto the plate. Once they were done, Cuthbertson challenged the students to use a spoon to put the toothpaste back into the tube.
The lesson showed that once someone removed the toothpaste, which represented behavior such as passing judgment or putting someone down, it can’t be taken back.
