Teacher to serve as grades 6-12 Dean of Students in secondary education transition

Jan. 19, 2024

Dear Poland Central School District community,

The Poland Central School District junior and senior high administration will be going through a transition as principal John Seifts tendered his resignation at the regular board meeting on Jan. 18.

I thank Mr. Seifts for his willingness to serve the Poland school community during his time as assistant principal and secondary principal.

The search for an interim secondary principal will begin immediately. The board named Todd Manley as grades 6-12 Dean of Students to help oversee secondary education.

With Mr. Manley moving out of the classroom, Molly Barton, a certified teacher who has completed two student teaching placements at Poland, will serve as a fifth grade long-term substitute. Both will fully assume their new responsibilities on Monday, Jan. 22.
