Poland Central School District elementary students recently welcomed members of the Newport Fire Company for an educational presentation focused on fire prevention, water safety, and everyday safety practices.
During the visit on Tuesday, firefighters discussed the importance of smoke detectors, fire safety precautions, and ways students can stay safe both indoors and outdoors. The presentation provided students with practical information to help them recognize potential hazards and understand how to respond to different situations.
Members of the Newport Fire Company also shared examples of the various emergencies and scenarios they encounter while serving the community. Students had the opportunity to learn more about the responsibilities of firefighters and the important role emergency responders play in keeping residents safe.
The interactive presentation offered students an engaging opportunity to learn valuable safety lessons directly from local firefighters.
Poland CSD thanks the Newport Fire Company for taking the time to visit and share their knowledge with students, helping reinforce the importance of safety awareness at school, at home, and throughout the community.
