Seven schools including: Clinton, New Hartford, Notre Dame, Remsen, Utica Academy of Science, Whitesboro, and Poland participated in Utica University’s 47th annual Regional Science Fair on March 21, 2026.
Of the 12 senior level category awards, Poland students had the most winners of any school in the senior level. Congratulations to all of Poland CSD’s award winners:

Senior Level – Physical Science
- 2nd Place: Emily Pope – $50 – Certificate, ribbon, and medal
- 3rd Place: Trinity Lyman – $25 – Certificate, ribbon, and medal
Senior Level – Math, Engineering, & Computer Science
- 3rd Place: Kade Haver – $25 – Certificate, ribbon, and medal
- 4th Place: Alaina Meyer – Calculator – Certificate, ribbon, and medal

“Every year I am continually impressed by the new scientific inquiries the students imagine. To see them follow that line of questioning, and arrive at scientific conclusions is what the science fair is all about,” said Jessica Meyer, Poland science teacher and PCSD Science Fair Co-coordinator. “I am very proud that year after year several of our Annual Poland CSD Science Fair category winners choose to go to the next level of competition at the Utica University Regional Science Fair. It shows dedication to a larger passion for science.”

To see them take ownership of their research and present their findings with confidence is a testament to their hard work and the bright futures ahead of them,” said Kevin Ford, Poland science teacher and PCSD Science Fair Co-coordinator. “They are building the skills that will define the 21st-century workforce.”
