Poland CSD is proud to introduce Grace Grems as the Class of 2026 Valedictorian. Grace Grems is the daughter of Renee Alsante and Jonathan Grems. We asked Grace some questions about her time at PCS and her future plans, and here are her answers:

Q1: What is the most important thing you learned from your time at PCS?

“The most important thing I have learned at PCS is being able to be your true self. Having the opportunity to be a part of many things and not have to let go of something was a privilege I had at PCS. I was never told that I couldn’t, and everyone was always accommodating.”

Q2: What extracurricular activities were part of your 9-12 experience at PCS?

“During my time at PCS I was captain of the soccer team, captain of the basketball team, captain of the tennis team, a member of the track and field team, the student representative on the board of education, president of student council, president of national honor society, president of the class of 2026 for 4 years, treasurer of science club, vice president of yearbook, a board member of NYS CLSA for three years, had an internship through the regional program of excellence, a member of the envirothon team, a member of varsity club, a member of the drama club, apart of band and jazz band.”

Q3: What or who inspires and motivates you?

“My family and friends are my biggest motivations. All of them are my biggest cheerleaders; they always come to support me in all my endeavors. I couldn’t have done anything without them.”

Q4: What does being valedictorian/salutatorian mean to you?

“Being valedictorian means to me that I have preserved and achieved a goal I set for myself back in middle school. It shows all the hard work I put in, and even with other responsibilities, I was able to accomplish it anyway.”

Q5: What college will you be attending? What do you plan on studying?

“I will be attending the University of Rochester, in hopes of double-majoring in Data Science along with TV and Media Studies.”

Q6: What are your career goals or plans for the future?

“My career goal is to work in data science at an entertainment or a news company.”
