Poland CSD voters approve 2026-27 proposed school budget

On May 19, Poland Central School District voters approved the district’s 2026-27 budget proposal of $18,549,639, 161votes for to 48 against. Additionally, one board member was elected to serve a five-year term beginning July 1. At this time, these are unofficial results.

The $18,549,639 budget includes a spending increase of $255,542, or 1.40%, over the current school year’s budget, with a tax levy increase of 2.00% compared to the current year. The budget includes the purchase of one large and two small school buses to replace aging vehicles within the District’s current fleet and a capital outlay project of $100,000 to focus on priorities noted in Poland CSD’s building condition survey.

The candidate elected to a five-year term on the board of education was: Aaron Chrisman with 148 votes.

“On behalf of the board of education, thank you to the Poland Central School District voters for their continued support, entrusting us with the education of our students,” said Superintendent Laura Dutton.
