Poland Central School District employees in the Business Office play a key role in the financial management of the annual budget. The School Business Official and the Deputy Treasurer/Account Clerk provide the immediate oversight of operations of the transportation and maintenance departments, and have responsibilities that include purchasing agent, accounting and record-keeping, financial reporting, management of payroll and employee benefits, collecting school taxes, and supporting audits.

2026-2027 Budget & Board of Education Vote
On May 19, Poland Central School District voters approved the district’s 2026-27 budget proposal of $18,549,639, 161 votes for to 48 against.

The $18,549,639 budget includes a spending increase of $255,542, or 1.40%, over the current school year’s budget, with a tax levy increase of 2.00% compared to the current year. The budget includes the purchase of one large and two small school buses to replace aging vehicles within the District’s current fleet and a capital outlay project of $100,000 to focus on priorities noted in Poland CSD’s building condition survey.

ONE (1) Board of Education seat was filled this year at the Annual Vote that was held May 19, 2026. The vacancy is a term of five (5) years and is the result of the expiration of the following term of office: the seat presently held by Michele Szarek.

19 years.
Do you have children?
My wife and I have two sons at PCS: Tobias (k) and Asher (who will enter pre-k this fall). Our third son, David, passed away prenatally in February.
What is your current place of employment, title and brief description about your role?
I’ve spent 10 years in the credit union industry concentrated in data analysis and financial reporting. I currently work for AmeriCU as lending technology and reporting analyst.
What is your educational background?
I graduated from PCS in 2009 and served as senior class president during that year. I dual-majored in electrical engineering and math and I have an Associate’s Degree in Accounting.
What activities are part of your life?
I’ve attended Redeemer Church for over 30 years and have served in different capacities there. I spend a week every year providing disaster relief across the country with Samaritan’s Purse. I’m coaching tee ball this spring.
